This new Discovery has two engine variants; the first is the LR-TDV6 3.0 liter twin-turbo diesel which is adept to generate a total of 180kW power and 600nM torque. Its energy efficient design awards it to use 8.9% less fuel as well as being rated 9.21/100km on a combined cycle. The other, the 5.0 liter, a type of reciprocating piston internal combustion engine, naturally-aspirated V8 generates a total of 276kW power and 510nM torque. The fuel economy is rated at 13.9/100km and the CO2 emission is measured at 326g/km.

The entire interior of the new Discovery simply screams first class. It boasts of a leather trimmed centre console and a modified dashboard with other new amenities like metallic air vents, speaker trims and gear knob. Audio has been taken to the next level with an HD radio and five-camera audio-video DVD navigation for quick and easy parking. It also offers a premium audio package which is comprised of 14 speaker radio, CD player, USB and iPod input and a subwoofer.
